satelites and moons

Did you know that the moon doesent actually create light it only reflects it. the same with the other planets in the same solar system?

Here are some links.

  1. do you know what CENTRIFUGAL FORCE is? well now you'll know.
centrifugal force is a type of force whereone object orbits a larger object and the force that acts on the two objects such as the earth and moon. centrifugal force is a simmilar force to gravity. the moons effect on the earth is something you wouldent think of on a regular basis, it is the tide. the tides are created by the moon circeling the earth and the moons gravity pulling the water on earth back and forth creating different levels of water making high tide and low tide.

  2. SOLAR ECLIPSES
Do you know what a solar eclipse is? it is very related to the moon in fact its created by the moon! a solar eclipse is when the moon aligns with the earth and creates the solar eclipse. a solar eclipse is just another name for the shadow the moon makes on the earth. when you are caught in a solar eclipse it gives the effect that the whole world is blocked by the moon but its really just a small area!

  3. LUNAR ECLIPSE
A lunar eclipse is when the earth and moon align in such a way that the moon is traveling behind the earth (full moon) and no light reaches the moon but the light bends off of the atmosphere and creates the effect the the moon is larger and red, also known as a harvest moon.

  5. THE PHASES OF THE MOON
The phases of the moon are pretty simple you have your new moon, your half moon, your full moon, and another half moon, I have labeled 4 of the 8 moon stages, these are the main stages of the moon or the most noticeable. the new moon is when the moon has run its full cycle and it appears that it is gone, dont worry it is not gone or running away. a half moon is when the moon has just come out of the shadow and half of it is covered by the earths shadow and the other half is being hit by light. a full moon is when the moon is fully out of the earths shadow and is being hit by light full blast. these are the main stages or cycles of the moon.
